LOT NO 6241
Mouseman - An adzed oak pedestal chest crafted by the renowned workshop of Robert Thompson, Kilburn. This elegant piece features six drawers, each fitted with turned handles, panelled sides, and octagonal feet. A timeless example of Thompson's craftsmanship, embodying his distinctive rustic aesthetic.
Estimate: £2,000-3,000.

LOT NO 6236
Mouseman - An unusual adzed oak tub-shaped armchair, circa 1930s. This barrel-backed design with woven leather upholstery showcases the iconic mouse signature carved into an upright. Figured panelled sides enclose a panelled seat, complemented by an arched seat rail and stile supports with block feet on castors.
Notes: Made by apprentice Graham Hayes (1914-1943), who tragically died during WWII while serving in the RAF. This remarkable chair is offered for sale by family descent.
Estimate: £1,200-1,800.

LOT NO 6244
Shapland & Petter; Barnstaple (1854-1999) - A circa 1900s Art Nouveau mahogany display cabinet. Features include a raised shelf above a panel inlaid with heart and stylised tulips, flanked by a balustrade, and enclosed by two astragal-glazed doors. The lined interior contains two shelves, with a recessed central upright fitted with a single shelf. The arched lower section has an undertier, with spandrels inlaid with further floral motifs. Stands on style supports ending in moulded pad feet. Locks are stamped 'S&B, B', and a retailer's plaque verso reads 'Denby & Spinks, Leeds'.
Estimate: £500-800.

LOT NO 6391
A late 19th-century gilt wood and gesso window seat, featuring oval cane-work sides framed with lattice and ribbon decoration. The rectangular cane-work seat is topped with an upholstered squab cushion. Moulded edges sit over fluted seat rails, supported by acanthus-carved and stop-fluted turned legs.
Estimate: £200-300.

LOT NO 6184
John Wootton (British 1678-1764): Extensive Italianate Capriccio Landscape with Classical Pastoral Figures, oil on canvas. Indistinctly signed lower centre 'J Wootton'. Dimensions: 66cm x 61cm.
Provenance: Purchased at Christie’s, King Street, London, British Pictures Sale, July 1991, Lot 64.
Notes: An exquisite blend of naturalism and classical idealisation, this serene landscape features ruins, pastoral figures, and luminous scenery, drawing clear inspiration from Poussin and Claude Lorrain. Once described on an old label as "Landscape manner/Poussin(?) by John Wootton," the work showcases why Wootton was highly regarded by the aristocratic collectors of his era.
Estimate: £4,000-6,000.

A large 18th-century French Beauvais silk tapestry panel, depicting a romantic courting scene. A maiden in a white gown sits beneath a rose tree as a youth gestures with a floral crown towards a marble statue of Cupid, adorned with cascading rose festoons. Putti fly above, holding flower garlands in a soft, idyllic sky.
Provenance: Purchased from Walton Street, Chelsea, in the 1990s for £11,000.
Estimate: £1,500-2,500.

LOT NO 6147
Circle of Sir Peter Lely (Dutch 1618-1680): Three-Quarter Length Portrait of King Charles II Wearing Garter Robes, 17th-century oil on canvas laid onto board, unsigned. Dimensions: 121cm x 98cm (canvas); 148cm x 125cm (overall, including ornate gilt frame).
A striking and regal depiction of Charles II, this portrait reflects the grandeur and stylistic elegance associated with Lely’s school, capturing the king in his ceremonial Garter robes.
Estimate: £1,500-2,500.

LOT NO 6168
William Etty RA (York 1787-1849): The Bathing Nymph, oil on panel, inscribed verso. Dimensions: 29cm x 25cm.
Provenance: From the collection of Father John O'Connor, the inspiration for GK Chesterton’s detective Father Brown. Father O'Connor, a figure intertwined with prominent artists and writers, was known for his association with figures such as Eric Gill and William Etty.
Estimate: £1,000-2,000.

LOT NO 6210
"Le Coultre & Ce" - Swiss Atmos V clock, model 526-5 calibre, circa 1960. Housed in a lacquered brass case from the Marina series, featuring bevelled-edge acrylic panels with intricate gold and black Chinoiserie-style cutwork. The white circular dial includes Arabic numerals, eight indexes, and baton gilt lacquered hands. Accompanied by the original matching wall bracket.
This exceptional timepiece is powered by a gas-filled expansion chamber, which uses the temperature fluctuations between 10 and 27 degrees Celsius to drive the precision movement and heavy circular torsion pendulum. A single degree of temperature change powers the clock for 48 hours.
Estimate: £1,200-1,800.

LOT NO 6045
A 12th to 13th-century Persian Kashan fritware or stonepaste pottery storage jar or vase, of ovoid form. The piece is decorated in dark indigo under a turquoise glaze, featuring horizontal lines and looping patterns. It stands on an everted footed base and measures 39cm in height.
Provenance: Unearthed in the late 19th century in Egypt by Lord William Amherst (1835-1909), a noted diplomat and antiquarian collector closely associated with archaeologist Howard Carter. Passed down through Amherst’s family, including his daughter Geraldine, to the current vendor.
Estimate: £800-1,200.

LOT NO 6002
A pair of limited edition silver gilt Congress of Europe Standing Cups and Covers, commemorating Jean Monnet's contributions to European unity. Designed by Hector Miller and Madeleine Dinkel for Aurum, these ornate pieces feature lids adorned with carved portraits of eight prominent statesmen, including Adenauer, Churchill, and Macmillan. The bands of calligraphy in high relief quote Monnet.
Edition numbers 36/100 and 37/100, hallmarked Aurum, London, 1973. Each cup measures 21cm in height and is presented with certificates and the original case.
Estimate: £500-800.

LOT NO 6001
A pair of limited edition silver goblets commemorating the 300th anniversary of the laying of St Paul’s Cathedral’s foundation stone in 1675. Designed by Jocelyn Burton for Aurum, the goblets feature gilt stems sculpted as phoenixes with outstretched wings supporting the bowl, and pedestals inscribed with “Resurgam”. The interiors are gilded.
Edition numbers 188/600 and 189/600, hallmarked Jocelyn Burton, London, 1975. Each goblet is 16cm in height and comes with certificates and the original case.
Estimate: £300-500.
