Our Toys & Models sale at David Duggleby is set to delight collectors and enthusiasts alike, featuring a fantastic range of vintage and modern treasures. From charming jointed teddy bears and collector’s edition Barbie dolls to dolls house furniture and accessories, train sets and sought-after Pokémon cards, there’s something for everyone.

One of the highlights from this sale is an extraordinary single-owner collection of rare Star Wars and Star Trek memorabilia, these lots are a must-see for fans of these legendary franchises.

Star Wars Collection

 

Former soldier Jason Darling from East Yorkshire is auctioning his extensive Star Wars collection, which began in 1983 when he received a Palitoy Millennium Falcon for Christmas. While the initial craze faded, Jason continued collecting through flea markets and jumble sales, amassing a vast collection by the mid-1990s. Stored during his military service in Germany, the collection remained intact for 20 years. Now retired and downsizing, he is selling most of it, along with Dr. Who, Batman and Star Trek memorabilia. The 55-lot sale spans nearly three decades and features many rare boxed items. Lot 3120, Kenner Star Wars Return of the Jedi Jabba the Hutt Action Playset, is a fantastic piece from 1983, complete in its original box with inserts and instructions, capturing the infamous crime lord’s lair ( Estimate £80–£120). Lot 3137, Kenner Star Wars Collector Series Han Solo & Tauntaun Action Figure Set, brings to life the legendary rebel and his loyal mount in a beautifully boxed display (Estimate £50–£100). Meanwhile, Lot 3123, Palitoy Star Wars Return of the Jedi Millennium Falcon Vehicle, is a must-have for collectors, featuring one of the most recognisable ships in cinematic history, also boxed (Estimate £100–£200). These are just a few highlights from a collection filled with rare and exciting finds. Lot 3000, Charlie Bears ‘Ursula’, is a large plush jointed teddy bear designed by Isabelle Lee, featuring soft cream fur and a grey bow, complete with original tags (Estimate £50–£100). Lot 3030, an early to mid-20th century carved and painted wooden hunting group, attributed to Frank Whittington of Forest Toys, is a beautifully detailed set comprising three horses and riders, six hounds, and a deer, evoking classic British sporting traditions (Estimate £150–£250). Meanwhile, Lot 3092, a Danbury Mint Special Edition 22-carat gold-plated Aston Martin DB5, is an exquisite 1:24 scale replica of the legendary James Bond car from Goldfinger and Thunderball, presented in its original box with a certificate of authenticity and display case (Estimate £80–£120). Lot 3094, Toy Biz Batman Batcave Master Playset, is an exciting boxed set that recreates the Dark Knight’s iconic hideout, a must-have for any Batman enthusiast (Estimate £100–£200). Lot 3103, Bandai Playmates Star Trek: The Next Generation Bridge Playset, is a collector’s edition boxed set, offering fans the chance to own a detailed recreation of the USS Enterprise’s command centre (Estimate £100–£200). For Pokémon collectors, Lot 3185, a collection of vintage English and French Pokémon TCG trading cards, is a standout. This set includes approximately 80 English cards spanning Base Set, Team Rocket, Neo Discovery, Jungle, and Fossil, with thirteen holo cards featuring sought-after names like Charizard, Dark Blastoise, and Mewtwo. The lot also contains around 200 French-language cards, many first editions, including holo examples like Nidoqueen and Machamp (Estimate £200–£400).
