We’re excited to invite you to our Scarborough branch this September for a special valuation event, where we are offering reduced seller’s commission on all items consigned. Whether you have antiques, jewellery, art, furniture, or collectables, our team of experts will be on hand to give you a free, no-obligation valuation and discuss the best way to achieve the strongest price at auction.
Any item you choose to consign for auction will benefit from a reduced 12.5% commission rate. What we are looking for:

Jewellery & Watches

From antique brooches and Art Deco bracelets to modern gemstone set rings and luxury watches by brands such as Rolex, Omega, and Cartier. Fine jewellery, gold, and designer pieces are particularly in demand.

Paintings & Sculpture

We welcome artwork from traditional and modern artists, including local painters and members of the renowned Staithes Group, for whom we have achieved record-breaking auction results. Whether it’s a classic 19th-century oil painting, a contemporary watercolour, or a striking bronze or marble sculpture, our specialists are always keen to see exceptional pieces.

Decorative Objects

This includes everything from antique to contemporary decorative ceramics, elegant glassware, striking bronzes, and distinctive objets d’art. Well-crafted and unique pieces consistently draw strong interest at auction.

Toys & Models

The market for collectable toys and models remains very competitive and we encourage you to raid the attic for any forgotten treasures. We are keen to see Railway memorabilia such as Bachman and Hornby Models, Steiff teddybears and sci fi figurines.

Recently sold at auction - left to right: 18ct gold single diamond ring £1,700, Stanley Royle (British 1888-1961): Winter in a Dales Landscape £700 & Royal Worcester pair of twin handled spherical vases £500

Silver

As the market for silver remains strong, we welcome tea services, salvers, comprehensive flatware sets, candlesticks & candelabra, prestigious trophies and distinctive items such as cigarette cases, vesta cases, snuff boxes, vinaigrettes and novelties.

Militaria & Medals

We are actively seeking quality militaria and medals, from historic uniforms and wartime ephemera to antique swords, bayonets, and other edged weapons. Our specialists also welcome military awards and medals, prized for their historical significance and the stories they tell of bravery and service, whether from WWI, WWII, or earlier conflicts.

Coins, Banknotes & Stamps

Single rare coins, gold and silver proof sets, pre-1947 silver coinage, historic banknotes, and complete stamp collections are always of interest.

Music, Sports & Entertainment

We are keen to see a range of musical instruments, particularly Fender and Gibson guitars. Sporting memorabilia is always highly sought after, including match-worn shirts, historic programmes, medals, trophies, and equipment associated with significant events or athletes. Entertainment memorabilia, such as original film and television posters, props, costumes, autographs, promotional items and collectables from the stage and screen, is also encouraged.

Recently sold at auction - left to right: Modern limited edition silver goblet £400, Group of ten medals and other military items £700 & Queen Elizabeth II 2005 gold brilliant uncirculated five pound coin £2,300

Wine, Whisky & Advertising

Where rarity, history and presentation all come together, fine wines and whiskies often increase in value over time, particularly limited editions or bottles with impeccable provenance. Collectors aren’t just buying to drink - they’re investing in heritage and prestige. Vintage advertising, from enamel signs to brewery mirrors, carries its own appeal. These pieces capture the style and energy of the past, making them highly desirable for decorators and collectors who want something authentic with a story to tell.

Photography, Science & Travel

We are particularly looking for vintage and classic cameras and photographic equipment by renowned makers such as Leica, Nikon, and Hasselblad, alongside modern digital cameras, specialist lenses and cutting-edge photographic accessories. We also welcome a broad spectrum of scientific and travel-related items- from telescopes, microscopes, barometers, and early medical instruments to compelling photographs, postcards, and evocative travel memorabilia.

Curiosities

If you have something unusual, unexpected, or simply extraordinary, we would love to see it. This category includes taxidermy, entomology, natural history specimens, and other fascinating man-made and natural wonders.

Furniture, Rugs & Carpets

From elegant Georgian and Victorian pieces to mid-century modern furniture from iconic designers and makers, high-quality craftsmanship and design are always sought after. We are also particularly well known for our sales of Mouseman and Yorkshire oak furniture, which continues to be hugely popular with collectors and buyers. Persian and Oriental rugs, as well as decorative carpets, are also welcome.
