Icons of 1960's: Dolls with History
Few toys reflect mid-century glamour quite like Barbie. This sale features an exceptional collection of 1950s and 60s
Mattel Barbie dolls, including the much sought-after bubble cut Barbie circa 1962, with coral lips, blue eyeliner, red swimsuit and signature earrings. Alongside her stands a Fashion Queen Barbie, complete with gold and white swimsuit, headscarf and interchangeable wigs, together with a Ken doll from 1961 dressed in his classic red-striped shirt and shorts.
Equally appealing to collectors of vintage British dolls is a 1963–64
Pedigree Sindy, wearing her iconic Lunch Date outfit. Introduced as “the doll you love to dress”, Sindy’s wholesome charm and British manufacture have made her a nostalgic favourite. Accompanied by original Pedigree clothing and accessories, this lot offers a delightful glimpse into the era when fashion dolls mirrored the elegance of everyday life.
