This week at Duggleby’ brings together three very different but equally compelling sales, ranging from practical garden and commercial equipment to large scale Persian carpets and deeply personal items of military history. Whether you are bidding for utility, decoration or historical interest, there is much to explore across the salerooms.

Garden, Home & Commercial Assets

The Garden, Home & Commercial Assets sale offers a varied selection of machinery, garden features and outdoor furniture, ideal for both private buyers and trade.
Among the highlights is a Kubota BX2200 diesel lawn tractor (Lot 79), complete with grass catch, aerator, roller and full documentation. With just over 1,100 hours recorded, this well equipped machine is estimated at £3,000 to £6,000 and will appeal to those looking for a reliable, proven workhorse.

For something more decorative, a pair of cast aluminium garden benches in the Coalbrookdale ‘fern and blackberry’ design (Lot 23) offers classic Victorian inspired styling, finished in white paint and estimated at £400 to £600. These sit comfortably alongside a set of four cast stone figures representing the Four Seasons (Lot 47), a timeless addition to formal gardens, estimated at £300 to £500.

Completing the selection is a Yamaha Grizzly 450 quadbike with rear mounted spreader (Lot 185), a practical and versatile machine with relatively low hours, estimated at £2,500 to £3,000.

Sale ends Wednesday 28 January from 11AM.

Persian & Oriental Rugs & Carpets

The Persian & Oriental Rugs & Carpets sale is anchored by several impressive large scale carpets, each showcasing regional design and skilled hand knotting.
Leading the highlights is a substantial North West Persian Heriz carpet (Lot 506), with its bold madder red field and striking angular medallion design. Measuring over four and a half metres in length, it carries an estimate of £2,000 to £4,000 and makes a strong statement in larger interiors.

Equally impressive in scale is a North West Persian Mahal carpet (Lot 500), featuring a central indigo field with scrolling vines and palmettes, framed by a brick red border. Estimated at £900 to £1,200, it offers both presence and decorative balance.

A Central Persian Najafabad carpet (Lot 513), with an ivory ground and elegant all over floral design, provides a lighter palette, estimated at £700 to £1,000. Rounding off the selection is a finely detailed Central Persian Kashan rug (Lot 535), signed to the Shah Abassi workshop and decorated with dense floral sprays on a deep blue ground, estimated at £500 to £800.

Sale ends Wednesday 28 January from 4PM.

Militaria, Medals & Sporting Guns

The Militaria, Medals & Sporting Guns sale presents a broad mix of historic weapons, medals and personal artefacts, spanning from the seventeenth century to the Second World War.

One of the more unusual offerings is a flintlock ladies muff pistol (Lot 3022), dating to around 1800 and signed by Grierson of London, Gun Maker to His Majesty. Compact and discreet by design, it carries an estimate of £150 to £250.

At the other end of the historical spectrum is a rare silver gilt Royalist badge of Charles I (Lot 3126), by the engraver Thomas Rawlins. With the king’s profile to one side and the crowned royal arms to the reverse, this significant Civil War relic is estimated at £2,000 to £2,500.

Twentieth century history is represented by a WWII RAF casualty group awarded to Sergeant Jack Dale Perrett (Lot 3162). Accompanied by medals, air gunner’s wings, photographs and a telegram reporting him missing in action, the group is estimated at £150 to £250. Also included is a pair of WWII RAF flying goggles (Lot 3075), estimated at £80 to £120, a tangible reminder of wartime service.

Sale ends Thursday 29 January from 11AM.
