Our Whisky & Wine Sale, ending Friday 5 June, brings together a carefully selected range of fine wines, rare whiskies and breweriana. From collectable single malts and mature Bordeaux to presentation bottles and vintage advertising wares, the catalogue offers plenty for established collectors and those looking to begin or broaden a collection.

With celebrated Champagne houses, sought-after Scotch whisky, French cellar classics and characterful brewery memorabilia, the sale reflects the many ways wine and spirits continue to appeal, whether for drinking, collecting, investment or display.

Whisky: Single Malts & Special Bottlings

The whisky section features a strong selection of distinctive bottles, led by the remarkable Lot 3113, a remarkable Glenfarclas 105 Cask Strength 3 litre presentation bottle, 60% vol. Presented to Enda Bolger, trainer of Cantlow, winner of The Glenfarclas Cross Country Handicap Steeple Chase at Cheltenham in 2016, and offered with the programme, with a £150-250 estimate it combines sporting provenance with the appeal of a large-format cask strength bottling.

Yorkshire whisky is represented by Lot 3058 - a full set of Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery Projects maturing malts, with an estimate of £850-1,000, it's comprised of Projects 001 to 004 in 70cl bottles and Projects 005 and 006 in 50cl bottles, each at 46% vol. As the distillery behind Filey Bay, Spirit of Yorkshire has played a significant role in establishing English single malt, and early project releases such as these hold interest for collectors following the development of newer distilleries. A more established name appears in the form of Lot 3062 - a Macallan 25 year old single malt Scotch whisky, selected and bottled by Royal Mile Whiskies for the Bank of Scotland. At 70cl and 43% vol, it carries the prestige of one of Scotland’s most collectable distilleries, paired with the added appeal of a special bottling. Estimate £400-600.

Wine: Classic Bottles & Cellar Interests

The wine offering brings together recognised French labels, with Bordeaux particularly well represented. Lot 3021 is Château Beychevelle 2006 Saint-Julien, offered as a group of five bottles, is a highlight. Known for its distinctive ship label and long-established reputation, Beychevelle remains one of the most recognisable and collectable names of the Saint-Julien appellation and is estimated at £200-300.

Large-format bottles always bring visual and cellar appeal, and the sale includes Lot 3009 a Château D’Ache 1970 Haut-Médoc double magnum, 3 litres. Bottles of this scale are prized not only for their presence, but for their association with celebration, hospitality and long-term collecting. Estimate £300-400. Also featured is a twelve-bottle group of Château Branaire Duluc-Ducru 1994 Saint-Julien, 750ml, 13% vol - Lot 3016. Complete groups such as this offer the appeal of consistency and provenance, particularly for buyers looking to acquire mature Bordeaux with strong regional identity, it carries an estimate of £200-300.

Breweriana and Advertising: Collecting the Culture of Drink

Beyond bottles, the sale includes a lively group of advertising and breweriana, reflecting the design, humour and visual culture that developed around beer, spirits and travel.

Guinness collectors will note a group of Carlton Ware advertising pieces, including Lot 3041 Guinness for Strength with a man pulling a cart, My Goodness, My Guinness with an ostrich and the Guinness for Strength kangaroo. Estimated at £50-100, these pieces capture the playful style of mid-century brewery advertising, where humour and instantly recognisable characters helped define a brand. Lot 3042 is a bold piece of bar and brewery design appears in a Heineken Bier advertising sign, the circular convex backlit logo mounted on a cast metal bracket. Strong graphic branding and practical display appeal make signs like this popular with collectors, interiors buyers and those creating home bars or hospitality spaces. Estimate of £400-500.

Travel and spirits collecting come together with Lot 3044, a substantial group of approximately one hundred KLM Bols Delft decanters, each shaped as a Dutch house. Originally produced as miniature decanters for airline passengers and with an estimate of £200-400, these have become highly collectable in their own right, particularly in larger groups where the variety of architectural forms can be appreciated.
The Whisky & Wine Sale offers a broad and engaging catalogue, from rare single malts and mature Bordeaux to presentation bottles, Champagne, breweriana and collectable advertising pieces. Whether you are buying for the cellar, the drinks cabinet or a display collection, the sale brings together pieces with provenance, character and recognised names.
