Few British classics capture 1970s open-top motoring quite like the Triumph Stag. This 1973 Triumph Stag Mk II 3.0 V8, offered in this single lot auction, is an attractive manual example with overdrive, finished in yellow and supplied with both a removable hardtop and folding soft top. First registered on 8 March 1973, the car shows a recorded mileage of approximately 50,000 miles and is fitted with the 2,997cc petrol V8 engine.
A key part of its appeal lies in the extensive history file accompanying the car. The records indicate that the engine was rebuilt at around 36,000 miles, with work including re-boring of the block, machining of the top faces and steam cleaning after machining. Further work is understood to include an upgraded radiator, electric cooling fan, Stag Weber header tank kit, cooling hoses, fuel pump and filters, alternator, ignition components, brake parts, tyres, front lights and LED bulbs, along with various seals, trim items and seat components.
