Breaking Records Twice in One Sale

Previously, the highest auction record for a Jack Rigg piece stood at £1,100, a record we were proud to have set ourselves. However, this recent auction saw us shattering that record not just once, but twice!

Lot 1

Jack Rigg (British 1927-2023): Bank Top 'Robin Hood's Bay 1962', oil on canvas, signed and titled, dated 2002.

The first lot in our sale sold for £1,100, matching our previous record and showcasing the enduring appeal of Rigg's coastal landscapes.

Lot 4

Jack Rigg (British 1927-2023): 'Whitby Harbour', oil on canvas board, signed and dated 2010.

Reached an impressive £1,600, setting a new record.

Lot 11

Jack Rigg (British 1927-2023): 'London River', oil on canvas board, signed and dated 2008.

Achieved an astounding £1,900, breaking the record yet again and highlighting the increasing recognition of Rigg's wonderful marine artwork.

Remarkable Results and Global Reach

The overall hammer price for the auction came just shy of £21,000. This auction has not only reaffirmed the value and appreciation of Jack Rigg’s artwork but has also expanded his collector base internationally.
